Use these WiFi hacking tools at your own risk! These are for educational / testing purposes only and are only to be used with networks with which you already have permission.
Pwnagotchi
- Captures 4 way handshakes (based on Raspberry Pi 0 W)
Hash Monster
- Based on M5Stack Basic or Fire edition, this captures EAPOL 4 way handshakes / PMKID.

- Also see SSID Collector project: https://medium.com/@elkentaro/m5-stack-shitty-code-ssid-scanner-collector-3a1dd1eaf3c2
- It's like Hash Monster but only looks for "open" WiFi networks (with no security enabled) and tests whether they're truly open or not (captive portal enabled, for example).
PwnPad
- This is a Nexus 7 tablet with Kali Nethunter installed, an optional Bluetooth keyboard, OTG adapter and external WiFi adapter capable of monitor mode / packet injection. Available on eBay for between $100 to $150 (based on Nexus 7 1st Gen / 2nd Gen).
Kali Linux
- The best practice is to use Kali in a virtual machine (VM). Try VirtualBox
- Any device running Kali Linux is the best hacking tool due to its versatility. Wifite, for example, is one of the best apps and it's available using Kali.

WiFi Pineapple
- Aimed at WiFi penetration testing, the WiFi Pineapple has a slick GUI for launching attacks with which to test your network.

WiFi Deauther (Watch)
- Based on the inexpensive ESP8266 module, Deauther devices & watches are capable of Deauthenticating network devices. No, these watches can't capture handshakes. But they may help when used in conjunction with a device that CAN capture handshakes (such as ALL of the tools listed above).
- These come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Get one with an OLED screen if you can, since it's the same price as the non-screen versions. There are two general shapes / form factors: mini (rectangle) and regular (square). The square version seems to have a 2nd USB port AND a battery. The mini version seems to have neither.
